Get the recognition you deserve: Law Society Excellence Award for Barrister of the Year

Nominations are now open for Barrister of the Year, a new category in the Law Society Excellence Awards.
The awards are designed to reward best practice and celebrate excellence and achievement in areas that are central to the professions and are open to individuals and teams across the entire legal sector.
The award for Barrister of the Year will be presented to the advocate judged to have made the greatest personal contribution and positive impact on the perception of the profession. The category has been introduced to recognise those with outstanding skills and specialist knowledge as an advocate.
The Law Society is pleased to have the opportunity to recognise the fundamental role of barristers in providing high quality legal services for the benefit of the public and the profession.
About the Awards
Firmly established as a prestigious date in the legal calendar, the Law Society Excellence Awards are presented for excellence across all areas of legal practice.

Fact Sheets

Many legal issues arouse public controversy but at the same time may be complex and easily misunderstood. It is the Bar Council's intention to publish a number of fact sheets drafted by barristers who have experience and authority in the relevant legal areas. These fact sheets may be useful to members of the public, journalists, and anyone working within a legal capacity.
